Of course, turning 18 is special. For everyone, it makes you a legal human being. You are illegal otherwise. So, what is it being a legal person, that an illegal person is not. Does it make you better? Au Contraire.
Everything illegal is better, isn't it? Illegal movies are better than legal ones you have to buy. I am not supporting illegal activities, but only pointing out, that there is a thrill about them that is taken away when it becomes legal. Legal might be fun, but illegal is fun plus the thrill. Plus, legal things happen rarely and generally take time to happen. Illegal are more recurrent and fast. How many women are raped compared to the laws that are passed each year?
Now compare all that to childhood, its fun, things happen faster and the joys are aplenty compared to adulthood. but right now I do not wish to concentrate on the better phase of being illegal or the sad boring state of being legal. As much as I might uphold childhood, it is not all that great. It has limitations and restriction that adults do not.
Depending on which category you belong to, adult or child, you will find the opposite better. But it is the stage that you are neither which is the most special. Having fantasized about the joys of adulthood for nearly 16 years and then realising that it comes with a lot more responsibility than you like, or learning to give away on the simple joys and innocence of childhood and growing materialistic while also coping with the entire pressure of the villain of work, the phase in between is difficult, but it is what forms adults, ripping them out of cranky children.
Generally associated with the age of 18, the conversion is the difficult phase of any person's life, where they must form their own values, beliefs and thus it creates the legal entity that would follow. Like the formation of the bills and laws is the most important, this is the most important phase.
Having established how important it is, it also the most fun time...you are rebellious and wild and sceptic and volatile and so much more. Its insane how wonderful and enjoyable this part of a person's life can be and the memories and adventures are all from here. When you are younger, you only read about adventures.
So while you are still not legal enjoy it. Specially since you will not be illegal very soon. Its like enjoy your last days on the Earth, since it ends soon. <3
