Differences Exist.

So, the general idea that Kutchis are Gujaratis has been haunting a lot of late. Its not that I do not like Gujaratis or that I look down upon them, its simply that, we Kutchis are not Gujaratis. Its a fact and its as simple as that.

The arguement to say that Kutchis are Gujaratis might arise due to the physical assigning of the region of Kutch into the state of Gujarat.

Forgetting that...lets talk about Tibet. Tibet is in China and yet people of Tibet fight for their own country, their own region protesting that they are different people and not Chinese. You sympathise with Tibetans saying they are controlled and oppressed by the Chinese. They are not Chinese, but don't they exist within the physical boundary limits of China?

Another similar region would be Kashmir, now Kashmir is claimed to be in India and in Pakistan. Both countries lay claim of it and Kashmiris deny the right to both the countries. Kashmir says it is another country. Kashmir is in India and in Pakistan, what would you call them? Indians or Pakistanis? You would still call them Kashmiris, because they are a different group.

So why then do you mix Kutchis with Gujaratis? Simply because our land is in another state does not mean we are not aother group. Our language is different, our culture and lifestyle is different, our food is different (and even if our writing script is not different from that of Gujaratis (which is devnagiri anyways), France has a different writing script from England or Germany? it does not matter). Kutchis are different people.

Why not divide Gujarat into two separate states of Kutch
and Gujarat? It will make thing easier for your unitying brains.
Do not base your arguements on land division by corrupt governments, which only divides the country into administrative regions and not into cultural differences.
