To be forgotten and set aside

Through the walls of the rocky sea shore

Onto the clumsy lifeless beach

The bare feet stamping on to splashes

The sun absorbing the remains of the memory

The fading sighs of exhaustion and dehydration

Carefully planted seed into the mind tossed into the storms

Keeps secret the forgetting of the beauty

Finds only the scorching sun under the soles

Moss growing perfectly out of the salty locks

Whispering mouthfuls or the memories that stuck

Tangled into the mane and muck

The ships noticing the swimming corpse

Aware of the fights and struggles to fend at sea

Forgotten by even the circling seagulls

The unwanted piece of fish food, left out to soak up salt

The cracks of salt and the break of dawn

The best of the pickled human sort

Steered away not intentionally, just accidentally

Mistake of a human being to mistake a human being

The peaceful waves gain strength

The dead body whimpers back to life

The wind edging the cold deeper into the strife

On the seashore, the drying air devours the remains

The sun blazes full well, spotlighting the forgotten

Desperation reeks out of the stinking sand

Clinging onto itself with nothing but a few broken piles of Earth

Holding together the shards of skin peeling away in translucent layers

Bubbling mysteriously the foam receding on the shore

The hype of the gallows seen underneath the toes

Sinking into the Earth, closer to the destination

Unwittingly clarifying the lack of a chance

The removal of the trace continues to crash wave after wave

The last look behind, hoping to become brave

The lost feeling of the words heard over

The journey to the centre realising once again

The echoes of the 'forgot to tell you'

And the silences of the plans unheard of

Could there be a part of the world the forgotten belonged to?

Anywhere beyond the island washed ashore onto

Anyone beyond the echoes in the head

The forgotten doesn't forget

Those remembered do not remember
